Top three reasons to have a Wairarapa wedding

Top three reasons to have a Wairarapa wedding

We asked brides and grooms why they chose to get married in the Wairarapa.  For some there was a local connection – even if they didn’t live here, they may have spent many a happy holiday on this side of the Remutakas. But for most, it was a combination of things. We give you the top three….

1. The range of venues and accommodation is hard to match elsewhere – brides and grooms looking for anything from a small informal wedding in a vineyard to a large wedding with all the traditional trimmings found what they were looking for.  And if guests needed to travel from different parts of the country, there are plenty of hotels, homestays or self-catering houses available to accommodate them.

2. Everyone who can help you is here.  Caterers, photographers,  wedding planners, florists, wedding cake makers, marquee specialists, makeup artists and hairdressers – brides found the Wairarapa is full of talented creatives. And speaking of creatives, special mention goes to photographers who love taking photos in the Wairarapa landscape. Whatever the look or the backdrop – grassy hilltop, rustic barn, cute settlers cottages, grand farming mansions – it’s all here.

3. You can make a long weekend of it and have fun. Recent times brought home how much we value our families and friends. A wedding is a chance for us all to get together and make happy memories. Many weddings are held over two to three days, giving your guests plenty of time to cycle the vineyards, try a spot of winetasting, take a walk in the bush or explore the coast.
