The Scarecrows' Big Day Out

The Scarecrows' Big Day Out

Held in November each year, the Scarecrow’s Big Day Out is fun for all, particularly for families. Centred in and around Gladstone School the festival showcases the creativity of local residents. Each year the scarecrows may be different, the themes clever and inventive,  but there will always be a country fair at Gladstone School.  You can jump on a fair ride, join in the country games, and enjoy local baking, jam, preserves and a barbecue.

Scarecrows are on display on the Gobbler – Gladstone's secret setting, a family-owned six-hole golf course. Visitors and locals wander around the displays, sipping on local wine, beer and food, enjoying the entertainment, while taking in the country atmosphere.

If you want to check out the scarecrows in their natural habitat, pick up a scarecrow map and do the Scarecrow Drive around the district spotting the ever more entertaining straw-stuffed characters. Should you miss the big day out, the scarecrows do seem to loiter around Gladstone School and local farm gates for much of November.
